Center for Appalachian Studies

The Center’s programs broadcast to the larger world a deeper understanding of mountain regions both as cultural and environmental settings.

The Center for Appalachian Studies engages the public, students, and faculty to perpetuate the cultural and environmental heritage of Appalachia, discover new knowledge, address regional problems, and advocate for the well-being of the region.
