Not An Alternative

Not An Alternative is an art/activism collective with a mission to affect popular understandings of events, symbols, and history.

Not An Alternative is dedicated to harnessing the power of narrative and visual communications for social change. Not An Alternative both initiates and supports campaigns that foreground cultural and mediagenic organizing strategies. Borrowing tactics and techniques from advertising, branding, public relations, and exhibit design, it designs and produces grassroots pressure campaigns that heavily integrate both online and offline visual communications.

The trip would also provide an opportunity to meet with and deepen our relationships with organizers from Indigenous Environmental Network and Honor The Earth, whose work we hope to amplify within the museum sector through a partnership with five museums around the country over the next three years.
