Chorus Sponsors SSIR Supplement on “Philanthropy & Power”

Chorus has always been interested in spurring deeper conversation within philanthropy about our collective vision, assumptions, and impact. Toward that end, the foundations sponsored a supplement to the Winter 2024 issue of the Stanford Social Innovation Review.

The theme is “philanthropy and power,” and we worked with a set of brilliant authors, including:

  • Ash-Lee Henderson of the Highlander Center,
  • Nwamaka Agbo of the Kataly Foundation,
  • Sadaf Rassoul Cameron and Arianne Shaffer of the Kindle Project,
  • Mónica Córdova of the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing,
  • Alexis Frasz of Helicon,
  • Lorenzo Herrera y Lozano of Justice Funders,
  • Vivian Yi Huang of APEN,
  • Michelle Mascarenhas, former co-director of the Movement Generation Justice & Ecology Project,
  • Lisa Owens of the Hyams Foundation,
  • Aisha Shillingford of Intelligent Mischief, and
  • Aaron Tanaka of the Center for Economic Democracy.

Farhad Ebrahimi wrote opening and closing articles that shared some of what Chorus has learned.
