First Alaskans Institute

First Alaskans Institute helps develop the capacities of Alaska Native people and their communities to meet the social, economic, and educational challenges of the future, while fostering positive relationships among all segments of our society.

The Institute does this through community engagement, information and research, collaboration, and leadership development. First Alaskans is a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to advance Alaska Natives.

Creating an Indigenous Vision from an Indigenous Place
In partnership with the current group of just transition "Native Vision" steering council members, First Alaskans, as a member of this council, will utilize our capacity to coordinate the logistics to hold a two-day retreat to facilitate a more connected and real conversation about how Alaska Native peoples can continue to build, connect movements, and lead transformation for Alaska Natives and Alaskans in this state.
